How can a home help besides sheltering? It can easily change into many things by zigging, zagging and adapting.

One of the winners of The Ground Up Competition in Syracuse NY. This award-winning project used the concept of “loose fit” to provide versatility in housing. Depending on the need, the home could become multiple bedrooms or an office with a studio apartment. This was achieved with a continuous open space on one side and the support spaces on the other side (kitchen, bathroom, mechanical room and pantry). The open space then could be configured with moving units as partitions into bedrooms, living room, office or retail space.
